Our Ministry Team.

Our ministry team is committed to serving the greater High Point and Triad community. We were founded in 1827 and we are almost 200 years old. Our leadership team has over 100 combined years of experience with a heart for the community. 

Tim Porter, M. Div, D.Min

Dr. Tim Porter, M.Div, D.Min is our lead pastor. He lives in High Point with his wife, Jane and has three adult children. He has four grandchildren.

Butch Osborne

Butch Osborne is our associate pastor. He lives in High Point with his wife, Donna and has three adult children. He has two grandchildren. 

Daniel Myers

Daniel is our worship leader and lives in High Point with his wife, Sara.

Judy Faircloth 

Judy is our pianist.

Robert Cashatt

Robert is our sound technician and lives in High Point.

Terri Feeney

Terri is our Director of Hospitality. She lives in High Point. 

Dr. Mike Beck

Dr. Beck is our lay leader. He lives in High Point with his wife Jane. He has two adult children and four grandchildren. 

John Floyd

John is our Director of Disaster Response Ministries. He has two adult children. 

Libby Myers

Libby is Director of Missions. She lives in Archdale and has four adult children.

AC Craver 

AC is Chair of Trustees and lives in High Point with his wife Sherry. 

Lauren Gunnell-Beck

Lauren and her husband Scott lead our youth group. They live in High Point with their two young daughters.

Our 100 Year History

Church Founded

1827

Named for Joel and Martha Mitchell, the church started as a roofless log cabin in the rural High Point community as is one of the oldest in Guilford County. 

New Church Building

1892

The church opened the new location on Kivett Drive in 1892. 

Permanent Fellowship Hall

1950

Current building and fellowship hall opened in 1950.

Joining of Global Methodist

2024

The church voted unanimously to join the Global Methodist Church.
